The Wedding Details

How It All Began…

At a party at Jeff’s fraternity house in 2001, we spotted each other across the room and began chatting. Lori dropped her drink on the floor, and after Jeff cleaned it up, numbers were exchanged. Our first date was July 4th. We went to dinner at Everybody’s, a nice little pizza place in Virginia Highlands, then watched fireworks from a friend’s rooftop terrace. It was perfect!

The Proposal

Lori was living in Miami for school, and took a really early flight home to Atlanta on July 4, 2007. Jeff was planning to propose that night, but couldn’t wait. Lori woke up from a nap on the sofa, and Jeff was waiting with an anniversary present. It was a ring! He said some really sweet things, and she said “Yes!” We celebrated at a friends BBQ, and then dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Two Urban Licks, with fireworks…just like it all began!

The Big Day

The ceremony and reception will be held at the home of Lori’s parents, David and Annette Higgins, on September 6, 2008. The outdoor ceremony will begin at 5:30pm. After the ceremony, guests will be welcomed into the home with a cocktail reception. Dinner and dancing will commence outdoors at 7:30pm. Since the ceremony and majority of the reception will take place outdoors, we welcome our guests to dress accordingly for warmer weather. Ladies may want to wear wedges or flats, as heels will sink into the soft grass.
